In these tough financial times just about everybody is looking for a way to earn some extra cash. Today I'm going to share with you another way you can earn extra money by using WebStarts. It's called flipping websites. The basic idea behind flipping a website is the same as flipping a house. You build a website and when you have it looking good and getting traffic you sell it for a profit. This works very well with WebStarts because you can build the website for free - that means no cash out of your pocket until the website is finished and ready to be flipped.
You're not likely to get rich flipping websites but an experienced website flipper can expect to make over $250 per website. Not bad for a few hours work. Of course the more time you spend building value in the website the more you can sell it for. Sites fetch more money if they have good page rank (Google's way of measuring the value of a page in their search results).
Here's a step by step guide to how you can get started flipping websites.
Step 1:
Find a niche to make your website about. If you're really passionate about something you'll do well because you'll have plenty to write about on your website. The more content you have on your site the better value.
Step 2:
Figure out some keywords and keyword phrases people might use to find information about your niches or subject and write a few articles about your subject using those keywords and keyword phrases.
Step 3:
Create a WebStarts.com account and make 3 or 4 web pages (one for each of your articles). Be sure to included your keyword and keyword phrases in your page name and page titles. This will help you obtaining ranking on search engine for your targeted keywords and keyword phrases.
Step 4:
Upgrade to a WebStarts Pro or Pro Plus account and add a domain name to your website. If you upgrade to a Pro Plus it will also get your website submitted to Google, Yahoo, and MSN (Bing). You'll also want to create bookmarks to your website using a social bookmarking service like socialmarker.com. This should help you generate some initial traffic to your website.
Step 5:
Go to flippa.com and create an account. Flippa.com is a marketplace for buying and selling websites. Make sure you list your site is listed in the turnkey sites section of flippa.com. It's not unusual for sites with no traffic to fetch $125, but sites with a lot of traffic sell for over $450.
Step 6:
Once you've found a buyer for your website be sure to have them send you the money through Paypal. Upon receiving the payment you provide them control of the WebStarts account. Be sure to point out to them the fact they can change the username and password.
If you follow these steps you'll be well on your way to earning some extra cash flipping websites. Remember the key is to get traffic to your site. Sites that have a lot of traffic will fetch you the most money.
